The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Firefly v Free Speech

Over at the Althouse blog is a post on University of Wisconsin—Stout and Free Speech.  The "offender" was a professor who put up a Firefly poster with the quote:
You don't know me, son, so let me explain this to you once:  If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.
It is a quote about fairness, not killing.

Free speech is very precious and exceptions are to be avoided.  Campus Police, and other law enforcement agencies need to be very judicious in where and when they intervene.  College Administrators even more so.

Universities are the bastions of liberalism/progressive thought. Anything that runs counter to that will be immediately attacked and dispensed of immediately. Been that way for decades and decades.

That this sort of poster and its "postee" have been expelled from the University is emblematic of the sort of cloistered, elitist society that exists within the ivy covered walls of academia.

BTW...I love the Firefly quote.

He wasn't, in the end, expelled, but he had been threatened by the Campus Chief of Police.
