The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

"What is Truth?"

A look at the developing conspiracy stories surrounding the death of Osama bin Laden is provided by reporters Yaroslov Trofimov, Tom Wright and Matt Bradley in an article in The Wall Street Journal, which is available on line.

In the article we have this comment:
The reluctance of many in the region to believe Mr. Obama's account of bin Laden's death must be seen in this context of pervasive anti-American sentiment, explained Shadi Hamid, director of research at the Brookings Center in Doha, Qatar.  "It's not so much about bin Laden as it is about the U.S.," he said.  "The U.S. has provided its narrative to the world—and the natural reaction of many people is to cast doubt on whatever the U.S. says."
As for releasing the photographs, I don't think that will convince the last die hard skeptics.  So, we have transparency versus a certain degree of decorum.  I vote for decorum.

PS:  "What is truth?"  Prefect Pontius Pilate (John 18:38). Thus giving rise to a phrase in the aviation dodge for a long time ago, "Back when Pontius was a Pilate."

We have become a society of intrusting sensationalists....the greater the possible deception, the greater the sensation.
