The EU

Google says the EU requires a notice of cookie use (by Google) and says they have posted a notice. I don't see it. If cookies bother you, go elsewhere. If the EU bothers you, emigrate. If you live outside the EU, don't go there.

Outback Question of the Week

What New York Congressman is still under investigation for improprieties? He is a powerful Committee Chairman of the House Ways and Means. This means he writes the tax legislation. This person is, of course, being investigated by the House Ethics Committee for tax problems, amongst other things.

A hint for older people. He replaced Adam Clayton Powell, Jr, in the US House of Representatives. Congressman Powell was been in the news lately, due to the appointment of former Illinois Attorney General Roland Burris to take President Elect Obama's seat in the US Senate. Constitutional experts have cited the Powell v McCormack to say that Mr Burris must be seated. Congressman Powell lost his seat, when the House voted 307 to 116 to exclude him. He won it back in a special election and then had to sue the Speaker of the House to be reseated.

In my memory, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr, is most connected with the island of Bimini, his home away from home.

Regards -- Cliff
